A weirdly appropriate song

Shadowen

So on the Casino Royale soundtrack, there's this weird sort of orchestral rock ballad thingy.  And as you might imagine, a song from the point of view of a cold-blooded secret agent would work oddly well for the Silencer, especially with the irony of the song title and chorus thrown in there...

You Know My Name
Chris Cornell

If you take a life, do you know what you'll give?
Odds are you won't like what it is
When the storm arrives, would you be seen with me
By the merciless eyes I've deceived?

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights
But you yourself are nothing so divine
Just next in line

Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny, the prize, it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name

If you come inside, things will not be the same
When you return to the night
And if you think you've won, you never saw me change
The game that we have been playing

I've seen diamonds cut through harder men
Than you yourself, but if you must pretend
You may meet your end

Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny, the prize, it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins

Try to hide your hand
Forget how to feel
(Forget how to feel)

Life is gone with just a
Spin of the wheel
(Spin of the wheel)

Arm yourself because no one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny, the prize, it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name

Ehehehe, seen in a "Crusader" style it has its weird sense... :)

I've seen that Bond movie a couple of week-ends ago... Didn't like it much, to be honest I spent most of the movie saying idiotic things: apparently no one was disturbed, they didn't threaten to kick me out of the cinema... ;)
Fact is I still like better those Connery and Roger Moore "Bond movies", the Brosnan bunch was pretty much ridiculous imho and this one is not much better... Obviously this is strictly subjective, maybe some of you liked these latter movies.

The song is not bad, but I liked better the stuff from Cornell at the time of Soundgarden...

Ok, enough with off-topic stuff...

the thing that irritated me the most is how they showed russians in the movies. Not only about Bond. But in other movies. It's fun seeing how scriptwriters, who know nothing about russians or life here write the scripts. When you are russian you watch those movies as a comedy ;)

From Russia with Love was the one of the most ridiculous movies ever lol.

Ehehehe, I surely understand what you mean! :) It's mostly the same when they depict Italians in the movies... :)

To keep up with the "Bond" series, just think of "For your eyes only"... The part set in northern Italy in Cervinia is utterly ridiculous at best. It always puzzles me that movie is one of those I liked best in the Bond series, but it probably has more to due with the "virtues" of the Bond-girl in the movie rather than any virtue of the movie itself...  ::)

The way they depict Americans that live in Iowa... whoo-boy, it's so offending.  :p

Ehehehe, you never know what they'll show next on tv or the cinema... :) I Bet everyone will have to keep their eyes open or who'll be next in this campagin of discrimination? lol  ;D

I can say that the problem is the same for the French people ! Especially after the story of the war in Iraq (I clarify that I just give a temporal reference, I don't wish to make divert the topic on the politics)... :p

Heh.  What gives me a kick is when French people (or Roman, or...) are depicted with...drumroll please...British accents.

One thing I will give the director of Marie Antoinette credit for: she didn't have her actors attempt accents.  Which had a slightly comic effect, but allowed them to concentrate solely on acting.
